Hillfoot Harmony
is proud to be a chapter of
Sweet Adelines International, the largest
non-profit women's musical organisation in the world! With more than 30,000 members from around the globe, Sweet Adelines provides the education to promote and perfect the fine art of singing 4-part harmony in the barbershop style.
Chartered in 2006, Hillfoot Harmony have performed for civic, cultural and charitable organizations in Dollar and surrounding communities. The chorus has always aspired to achieve musical excellence in its performances and competition.
The chorus has competed in Ireland at the International Barbershop Convention and in 2007
and 2009 competed in the
Quartet of Nations
Sweet Adeline regional competition.
In 2009 the chorus were proud winners of a silver medal in the small
chorus competition.
Hillfoot Harmony love to perform and can provide full chorus, or quartet entertainment packages to fit all occasions; conventions, luncheons, banquets, receptions and club meetings.
The Chorus:
- is a colourful composite of women from all walks of life...educators, housewives, secretaries, business and professional women.
- is open to women of all ages.
Being a Sweet Adeline is truly a way of life: the glitz, the glamour
and the sequins!
The heart and soul of being a Sweet Adeline is the love of music and four-part harmony, and of belonging to an organisation that allows us to express that love in a very unique and wonderful way.
